Hellocosplay Ciel Phantomhive Cosplay Review

Hey, guys! Long time no see! So I got my Ciel cosplay in from Hellocosplay.com, and I decided to do a review!

So this is the costume I ordered

I placed the order on June 3rd, and it arrived on June 25th, so it took roughly two weeks to get here. When I placed the order I told them I needed the costume no later than July 25th, and they got it to me a month earlier than that (wow!)

It came really well wrapped, but the package was huge! It seemed really stuffed in there, making the package super fat!

Everything was (kinda) folded and stuffed into a clear bag!

The shirt is amazing. It desperately needs ironing, though, haha! The lace is so, so amazing, and it fits perfectly!

Here's a close up of the lace. It's so lovely.

I'm in love with the sleeves. They're so perfectly flared, and just add the extra oomph to the costume.I think the sleeves might be my favorite part of the entire costume!

I want to apologize for the bad picture, haha. These pants are hard to photograph! When I saw them, I was reaaalllyyy nervous! They look a little... dumb to say it lightly. They reminded me of something that Pinocchio would wear. But when I put them on they looked great! The ruffly top and coat hide most of them, actually, they're mostly there just to be there, if you know what I mean. They're really comfortable!

This picture shows the material much better than the first. It's this beautiful dark purpleish blue velvet. This shows my favorite part of the pants. Yes, you guessed it. Pockets. No, not lame fake pockets, real, nice pockets. No more shoving your money in your bra or shoes at a con, finally, real pockets. I almost cried of joy.

The coat is beautiful, but it's actually way too big for me. I ordered a size XS and give all my proper measurements, but this is like, a handful of fabric too big. I would say a size or two too big. But other than that, it's made really nicely. It's the same materal as the shorts, but they don't directly go next to each other, so it looks really nice, not strange at all. Actually, I think it'd be strange if they were different fabrics.

The buttons are sewn on really nice and snug.

They came with these gorgeous roses with feathers that you're supposed to pin on the coat.

I really love the back too!

                                                              Onto the accessories!

So this is the bow you're supposed to put on the back. I really like it, though it seems to have gotten misshapen during shipping which is a shame.
The gloves are really, really weird. Like, since when did fingers look like little sausages? They're also really weirdly cut. I could see how the cut would work if they were sewn better. There's no way I'm going to wear these, sadly.

Here's what they look like on. Super weird, right?

Here are the little leg guard thingies. They're supposed to go on your calf above your socks. Personally they don't fit me where they're supposed to. Actually, where they do fit me is my mid thigh, but the shorts cover that are so whats the point in wearing them? They're really big.

The hat is one of my favorites parts. Like the bow, it was crumpled during shipping, though. Regardless I adore the details like the roses, blue ribbon, and weird lace rose thingy.

Here are some close ups of the hat's decorations

I had no intention to use the eye patch that came with the costume, but it's surprisingly really nice! I'll definitely be using this.

The little ascot thing is nice, but a bit plain for my liking, so I'm going to add more lace to it! But that's all about personal preference!

The bows a pathetic, if you can even call it a bow. It's more like a nicely folded ribbon, It came separate than the ascot, so you had to pin it down. But it didn't come with a pin, which they usually do, which was kinda weird.

The tassels are really, really long. I don't mind, really, but i would have preferred them to be shorter to minimize the risk of it looking awkward.

This is how it looks on!

                                                                           Pros-
  • The cheap cost compared to what you actually get
  • The gorgeous lace
  • How well made it is
  • The shipping time
  • Attention to detail
  • No weird stains, smells, or seam issues
  • Gorgeous material

                                                               Cons-
  • Sizing on the coat was too big despite giving my exact sizes and measurements
  • The pathetic little bow on the ascot
  • Unfix able crinkling on the cat and bow

                                                                   Overall-

Overall I think this is my favorite costume I own (which is sawing a lot since I own like, 6). The costume is so, so beautiful and well made. The shipping was extremely fast, I've never gotten a costume in only two weeks! The costumer service is impeccable and they're super friendly! I was provided with a tracking number so I could see where my package was at any time! I recommend hellocosplay to anyone, and I'll definitely be ordering from there again!
